Notice to Parents of Miller County Public School Students:

Discovery Referral Deadline:

Miller County Public Schools is accepting referrals for the gifted program. Friday, September 5 is the Fall deadline for referrals for students in Kindergarten through 8th grades. A student may be referred by teachers, counselors, administrators, parents or guardians, peers, self, and other individuals with knowledge of the student’s abilities. To be eligible, a student must meet criteria in three of the following areas: mental ability, achievement, creativity and motivation. For information and to obtain a Parent Gifted Referral Form, contact your child’s teacher or Gray Kicklighter, Student Services Coordinator, at 229-758-5592.


At Miller County Elementary, we believe that children start their future when they are young. Therefore, we provide an education to students in grades K-5 that is full of variety. However, we do not neglect the core subjects.
