Welcome! My name is Kristy Perkins and this is my seventh year teaching Kindergarten at MCES.  I am a graduate of Miller County High School.  I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Thomas University.  I went back to school to obtained my Masters of Science in Arts Teaching and Learning degree through Nova Southeastern University.

I have the joy and privilege this year of working alongside Ms. Penny Atkinson.  We have a lot of fun hands-on learning opportunities planned to ensure that your child has the best Kindergarten experience possible. Together, she and I both are excited about having your child in our class this year!!! J

Everyday your child will bring home a “Daily Folder”. Homework is located in the front pocket for each child to complete and return to school the next day. This homework will not be tedious and will only serve the purpose of practicing skills learned at school. No pages are to be removed from the folder, unless they are located in the back pocket labeled “Keep at Home”. This daily work should be reviewed with your child each night. A behavior chart is located on the “Monthly Calendar”, and a newsletter with all the important dates. Kindergarten does not send folders home on Fridays.

I would LOVE for you to come and visit any time that you can. You are more than welcome to stop by and read us a good book, tell us a funny story, or teach us a new song. The kids will love it and I will too! Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any problems or suggestions!

You can call me at school at 229-758-4140 or send me an email at
